A brand identity rooted in Arabic cultural heritage and creative expression.
The Challenge
Mistika, with over five decades of combined expertise in show production, entertainment curation, and cultural experiences, sought a brand identity that could honor the richness of Arabic heritage while presenting itself with a modern, global voice. The challenge was to translate cultural authenticity into a refined identity system that feels timeless and relevant today.
The Process
Strategy
I began with brand workshops to distill Mistika’s core pillars, with statements that defined not just what the brand does, but what it represents within Arabic culture. These foundations became the guiding framework for identity development.
Naming
Through carefully curated naming sessions, we arrived at Mistika. Inspired by the Arabic word for mastic, a resin cherished for centuries across the region. This name embodies longevity, cultural value, and versatility. Just as mastic is used across multiple mediums, Mistika reflects an ability to adapt and contribute to diverse creative and cultural expressions.
Identity Design
I crafted a logo and design system anchored in the Arabic calligraphic “diamond-like” dot, which is an element found in Arabic letters and widely used in regional folklore art. This timeless motif, reinterpreted with a subtle retro-modern sensibility, became the visual thread that connects Mistika’s cultural heritage to a contemporary design language.
